This dongle has a Ralink MT7610U chip on it. This Wifi USB dongle is not officially supported on Mac by Cisco/Linksys yet but it will probably come later this year. Maintaining a driver backup provides you with the security of knowing that you can rollback any driver to a previous version (if necessary). I managed to have a Linksys Wireless Mini USB Adapter AC580 Dual Band running on Mavericks 10.9.1.
